What you need to know, and probably don’t, about IMEI numbers

IMEI numbers stand for the International Mobile Equipment Identity, and are codes for the identification of the phone that is unique to each unit.

The technological terms are often intimidating because they are hard to decipher with our previous knowledge. And the acronyms can be hard to keep up with. IMEI numbers is the protagonist of this day. Have you heard of it? Have you ever called that number? Does it have something to do with postal codes? Does it show up on my grocery receipt? No.

Theory classes that cover extensively useful things are missing from schools. This is why we are going to try and help you a bit.

With this number you will be able to increase the usefulness of your phone, being able to do things like cancel it completely if it falls into the wrong hands. We will explain how.

The IMEI is the main information that UnlockCode4U needs in order to unlock your phone. By unlocking it you will be able to use it with any company you want and be able to switch from one to another so that you can choose the one that is most convenient to you. Interesting, don’t you think?

Additionally, having this code on hand will make it possible for you to block the phone by contacting the operator in the event that your phone is stolen or lost. If your phone has fallen into someone else’s hands, at least they will not be able to use it.

This identification is very easy to memorize as it is only 15-17 digits. The other option is to write it down in a safe and private place.

How can I know what my phone’s IMEI number is?

When we buy a phone, the IMEI number can appear in various places: in the device box, with the battery, on the receipt… but there is the possibility that the code we find is not the code we are looking for as it may not be the one for our phone.

In order to be 100% sure of our IMEI number all we recommended is pressing the following keys on our phone keypad: *#06# and the IMEI code will automatically appear on our screen.

If you have any doubts about what this number is or what it is used for, don’t hesitate to ask us. We will clear it up for you.

If you already have your code and have decided to use it in order to unlock your phone, you only have one step left. Enter Unlock your phone with UnlockCode4U and follow the steps.
