Built upon the current crop of Sony smartphones, the Xperia M2 works some to distinguish itself from its predecessors in the M line, except for the huge jump in screen real estate – 4.8 inches, from the usual 4 inches.

The 4.8-inch display is LCD TFT with a resolution of 540x960 pixels. Not quite the high resolution one would expect, and the reflective glass on the screen may make it a bit difficult to see the display in bright sunlight.
The powerful quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor chip is quite fast, which makes operating the Xperia M2 a pleasant experience. The 1GB of RAM helps as well. The phone comes with 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot allows up to 32GB.
All in all, a speedy mid-range phone that can serve its purpose, even if the display is a bit disappointing.
